This week has been a relatively quiet one in terms of major events, but it has provided an important opportunity for us to settle back into the rhythm of a full school week and re-establish the routines that underpin successful learning.
We began the week with our Senior School Assembly on Monday. As is my custom, I shared some reflections and expectations with our senior pupils as we commence a new term together. This assembly was particularly pleasing as it allowed us to make use of our newly installed projector and screen in the gymnasium, significantly enhancing our ability to gather as a community and share important messages. I have included my assembly message below for those who may be interested in reading it.
Despite the cold and wet conditions that have characterised much of this week, it has been encouraging to see our pupils remaining engaged in their learning and participating positively in school life. I have had the opportunity to spend time moving around the school, visiting classrooms and speaking with pupils across a range of year levels. These informal interactions are always among the highlights of my week and provide valuable insight into the experiences of our young people.
This week has also included several online meetings with parents, with further meetings scheduled for next week. I appreciate the ongoing partnership between home and school and thank families for their willingness to engage in these important conversations.
As a reminder, I encourage all families to make regular use of the digital calendar available on our website. The calendar is kept up to date and contains the information most relevant to our school operations and upcoming events. At present, some RAMA sporting fixtures are not yet reflected on the calendar, but we hope to have this rectified shortly. I would also remind families that all school communications are available through the website and can be accessed via the Notices platform.
Looking ahead, our focus next week will be Neurodiversity Week. This special themed week will provide opportunities for learning, reflection and discussion around the diversity of ways in which people think, learn and experience the world. A range of activities will take place throughout the week, including sessions for parents. In particular, I encourage parents to attend our on-site charla on Wednesday 17 June, which will be offered at both 9:00am (onsite) and 7:00pm (online) to accommodate different schedules.
Finally, I wish every success to those pupils representing the school or participating in activities over the weekend. I hope all members of our community have the opportunity to enjoy a restful and enjoyable break before we begin another busy week together.
