Dear Wessex Community,
As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding trimester, I would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the many highlights and achievements across our school community.
One of the standout experiences of recent weeks has undoubtedly been our UK Trip. The tour provides an unforgettable opportunity for our pupils to explore historic landmarks, museums, galleries and cultural sites while developing greater independence, curiosity and global awareness. Throughout the journey so far, our pupils have represented Wessex magnificently, demonstrating maturity, enthusiasm and respect at every stage. I would also like to thank the staff who have been accompanying the trip and the families who supported this wonderful opportunity. We wish them well in their final two weeks of travel around the UK and for those who are venturing onto Paris for a few extra days. Have a great time and come back to us safely!
This trimester has also seen continued efforts to strengthen security and safety procedures across the school. Ensuring that our pupils learn in a safe, secure and supportive environment remains one of our highest priorities, and we will continue investing time and resources into improving these systems and processes.
At the same time, we have worked hard to create more opportunities for parental engagement throughout the school community. From school events and presentations to ongoing communication initiatives, we greatly value the partnership between home and school and appreciate the support and involvement of our families.
Attached to this communication you will find a wider report summarising the trimester in greater detail, including:
* Sharing Key Dates for 2027
* Revision of end of year 2026
* An observation of Education in Chile and the growth of AI
* An update on security and safety in school
* Special dates for Senior 6 parents (forward planning for final events to attend)
* Key dates to note for Trimester 2
* An academic update
This final week of the trimester has also been full of celebration and school spirit. Our whole-school House events brought tremendous energy and enthusiasm across all year groups, while Día de los Alumnos provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to celebrate together as a community. We were also extremely proud to see our pupil leaders represent the school in the Naval Day parade, where they demonstrated great pride and responsibility.
Finally, a reminder that the next trimester will begin for all pupils on Tuesday 2nd June, as Monday 1st June is a training day for staff and personnel. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our school community, and I wish all families a restful and enjoyable break.
